Up early for breakfast, as at this time Paul (or temporary tour leader now) was not sure what time the ferry was to depart as it all depends of the weather. The winds were expected to decrease the ferry time was 12.30 meaning we depart at 10.30 am. In mean time, we explored Ometepe, we hike around some of the trails of the lagoon and spotted what wildlife we could. At 10.30 am we rode our bikes the 10 miles back to Moyogalpa, encountering a heard of cows being moved along the road, fun trying to work our way through them, lots of happy kids waved to us along the way. Once in Moyogalpa we had lunch at Pizzeria Buon Appetito, very nice. We experienced a calm crossing to San Jorge, this time, even managed to get a little nap in. Bused into Rivas where we hopped back on our bikes to ride. The ride started at La Chocolata, quiet back roads that led us to the Pacific Coast near San Juan del Sur. A 18 mile, very quite bumpy dirt road, with some good climbs, through some very poor villages, where the people were very happy and cheered us along. Once we made it to the beach we enjoyed a beer, Paul had a bit of a swim and body surf in the small rollers, then back on the bike to ride the last 1/2 mile to the accommodation for the night "Hotel Casa Maderas". The rooms had cold showers and mosquito netting over the beds. It did have a big pool and nice restaurant on the second level to catch the breezes. It claims itself to be an Eco lodge. They did have a happy hour with $2.00 Pina Coladas, they were very nice. This was followed by a group meal, it was nice but it was a late night and we were very tired.
